About Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna
Our FULL SPECTRUM INFRARED SAUNA offers near, mid, and far infrared (IR) wavelengths for maximum therapeutic benefits. The benefits are reported to be 10-15% greater than benefits solely from far infrared. Far infrared wavelengths are similar to the ones produced by our body (9.3 to 9.4 microns). In this way, full spectrum IR saunas enhance detoxification, relaxation of the central nervous system, and increased cellular metabolism due to the specific infrared wavelength
The skin is the largest organ of the human body and has the ability to discharge large amounts of waste material through the sweat glands, one of the best mechanisms for waste elimination. The difference between traditional saunas and IR saunas is that traditional saunas raise the temperature of the air to a very high level to heat the body which, in turn produces sweating. Infrared saunas produce infrared light waves that penetrate the body to raise the core temperature to produce sweating. The IR sauna is more comfortable for clients who are sensitive to high heat. Beneficial results can occur at air temperatures of 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit, which is considerably less than the temperature of most traditional saunas. In addition the body is receiving infrared light waves which have the unique benefits of an infrared light treatment.
The full spectrum sauna sessions are offered at DeLaLuz Spa independently and/or in combination with other treatments. These saunas have been shown to be especially effective in combination with polychromatic light pad treatments for clients with heavy metals and other toxins. The sauna is located in a private suite with full bath facilities. Sessions are 20-35 minutes.
